About Zoe
Zoe believes in the importance of being a well-rounded artist. While her main focus is musical theatre, she is equally passionate about other elements of performance; such as acting (contemporary & classical), Shakespeare, and improv comedy. Zoe considers herself a storyteller first, and loves material that allows her to dive in headfirst as an actor. She is excited by text-driven material and especially drawn to works with heightened language, such as Sondheim and Shakespeare. Her goal as an artist is to use the theatrical medium to explore, question and celebrate the world around us.
Zoe began taking acting classes at the Children’s Theatre Company in her hometown of Minneapolis, MN at the age of seven. She began performing at regional theaters in the Twin Cities when she was ten and continued to work regionally throughout her teenage years.
After graduating high school Zoe moved across the country to Philadelphia, PA to attend the University of the Arts (UArts) where she spent the past three years pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Following the 2024 closure of UArts, she is finishing her senior year at Temple University in North Philly and will be completing her degree in May of 2025.
Zoe identifies strongly as a multifaceted artist and has many different interests in various areas of the theatrical field. She has about 8 years of experience in improv comedy and specializes in long-form storytelling. Zoe is also a dramaturg and has provided dramaturgical assistance for various projects. She has recently ventured more into writing her own works and is developing a new musical with her writing partner, Fern Morehouse. Overall, Zoe loves to make things that are creatively fulfilling and allow her to collaborate with the artists that inspire her.
In addition to her own artistry, Zoe often works as a theatre educator and enjoys helping young people find their voice through art. She also works on the front of house team as an usher at Ensemble Arts Philadelphia, where she gets to see an entirely different side of the theatre industry and fully appreciate just how many people it takes to make a show happen.
Zoe loves being an artist and theatre-maker and has known from a very young age that this is what she wants to do with her life. Zoe considers the ability to create something out of nothing to be a remarkable power that she feels both lucky and grateful to wield. Outside of theatre, some of Zoe’s favorite things include reading a good book with a woodwick candle burning, fresh flowers and iced coffee from the farmer’s market, and trips up to the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota with her family and dogs.
